goodreads I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

Drop all expectations… this is great but in a completely different way than I personally thought it would go. Refreshing, full of emotions until the very end. I want more!

About the plot: Kate Martin has had enough of her work and wants to develop into higher levels. When the opportunity to work in another company as a Creative Director appears, she is determined to get the job. Handsome owner tempts her with his looks and charisma, but she doesn’t pass this chance.

Marks Lingerie is struggling and owner Trey Marks is desperate to hire someone with a new vision. Beautiful Kate Martin seems to be a perfect candidate. But he hesitates whether inappropriate thoughts and incredible sexual chemistry between them doesn’t interfere with their cooperation.

“Trey Marks can say all day long he doesn’t fuck his employees, but I’d bet you his watch that he’d have spread me wide open on his desk if I’d asked for it.”

Final thoughts: Kate Martin’s trying to be a perfect girl, even though has many charming quirks. But the hero, Trey Marks, steals the whole show. He is charming, mysterious and demanding. Not standard suit wearing hero, not so confident, at least out of bed, with an interesting background. He is frustrating, but at once also very captivating. In front of them the whole road with secrets, tension and a wonderful friendship.

“In some ways our bond seems unflappable. In other ways, we seem as fragile as glass.”

It is a an office romance, but quite different than all of them. They start out as colleagues, to be best friends, and finally lovers. From beginning to end, it’s amazingly built and developed. It has fast paced action, but slow building angst and more of extremely high sexual tension than the act itself. There is no cheating but it causes a lot unsettling feelings.

“If our relationship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible.”

This book is simply one big addiction. Has an interesting plot, I don’t have to say well written, it’s Alessandra Torre – duh! But be ready for a crazy rollercoaster. It is consuming and completely addictive. There are moments, where you think just stop it already… but this ending… it’s perfection and put a big smile on my face. I recommend!
